Apoquel 5.4mg 100 Chewable Tablets

Apoquel is a medication used to treat itching (pruritus) associated with allergic dermatitis in dogs and the clinical symptoms of atopic dermatitis. Active ingredient: Oclacitinib. Dosage and administration: The recommended starting dose is 0.4–0.6 mg of oclacitinib per kg of body weight, given orally twice daily for 14 days. For maintenance therapy (after the initial 14 days), the same dose (0.4–0.6 mg/kg) should be given once daily. Apoquel tablets are chewable, palatable, and readily accepted by most dogs. They can be administered with or without food. The dosage table in the package leaflet shows the required number of tablets. The tablets can be divided along the scored line in the middle. The need for long-term maintenance therapy should be determined by the responsible veterinarian based on an individual risk-benefit assessment. Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients. Do not use in dogs under 12 months of age or weighing less than 3 kg. Do not administer to dogs showing signs of immunosuppression (e.g., hyperadrenocorticism) or progressive malignant disease, as the active ingredient has not been evaluated in such cases.
